Little Mohammad Zain watched the various ceremonies during the event with awe and joy.
In a unique wedding reception held at a wedding hall in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, little Mohammad Zain, dressed in a two-piece suit, sat on stage and joyfully participated in his parents' happiness. The three-and-a-half-year-old son of a Karachi-based groom and a Japanese bride, Mohammad Zain, watched various ceremonies during the event with surprise and delight, thoroughly enjoying the occasion. At this extraordinary reception, the groom's relatives ensured all the traditional arrangements that are typically made for a newlywed couple's wedding and reception, leaving no stone unturned in making this joyous occasion memorable.
Taher Mohammad Mamdani, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13C, shared that he moved to Japan from Pakistan nine years ago for education and later for employment. Taher Mamdani is involved in the business of buying and selling used cars and spare parts in the city of Sayama, Japan.
Taher Mohammad Mamdani explained that he first met the bride, Hozumi Yoshino (who later converted to Islam and was given the name Hanfiya), at a restaurant in Japan. Their initial meeting began with formal conversation, which gradually developed into a deeper connection. Eventually, with the mutual consent of both families, their relationship turned into marriage.
The bride, Hanfiya, mentioned that she had some knowledge about Pakistanis from her previous encounters with them during her education and other occasions. However, after marriage, she had the opportunity to learn more about Pakistan's culture and traditions. Hanfiya shared that she understands Urdu quite well and can speak some words fluently.
Hanfiya expressed her desire to speak Urdu fluently, just like her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and husband. She also hopes to learn the Memoni language. Hanfiya added that she is deeply impressed by Pakistani traditions, especially during festive occasions like Ramadan when fasting and celebrating Eid are moments that are difficult to describe in words.
Hanfiya shared that it is her heartfelt wish for their son, Mohammad Zain, to experience an equal life in both Pakistan and Japan, so he can fully understand the cultures and languages of both countries. She also mentioned her love for Pakistani food, especially the spicy and flavorful dishes, and highlighted that no other dish in the world compares to Pakistani biryani. Taher Mohammad Mamdani and his wife, Hanfiya, are set to depart for Saudi Arabia on Friday, where they will perform Umrah with their little son Mohammad Zain.
In response to a question about the three-and-a-half-year delay in holding the wedding reception after their marriage, Taher Mamdani explained that he had intended to visit Pakistan several times, but due to business commitments and personal reasons, he was unable to do so. He mentioned that since their wedding in Japan was a simple ceremony, his relatives, especially his parents, expressed a strong desire for the reception and other wedding rituals, such as the Mehndi and Mayoon, to be held in Pakistan.
Taher Mamdani further stated that while the event appeared to be just a wedding reception, it was, in fact, the culmination of a long wait by both families. He also revealed that before the marriage, he had made it a condition for Hanfiya (formerly Hozumi Yoshino) to embrace Islam, which her parents accepted with a smile.
