David Lorenzo stated that he lost the ring while playing golf with his father in 1964 |
Eighty-two-year-old David Lorenzo said that his 1964 class ring was lost at the Uniontown Country Club near Pittsburgh while he was playing golf with his father.
Seventy-year-old Michael Zenert was recently playing golf at the club when he spotted something shining in the dirt, which had surfaced after recent rains.
Michael Zenert mentioned that when he saw the shiny object, he thought it was a can tab. Concerned that someone might step on it, he pulled it out and discovered it was a ring.
Michael searched online for the ring's owner and found a podcast where David talked about his military experiences.
He traveled to Florida and returned the ring to David at the National Naval Aviation Museum.
